Grandma Spevak's 90th Birthday

On July 28th Paige and I went up to Cedar to spend the week while Allie was at girls camp. Then when it was over we just went to St. George and picked Allie up then headed back to Cedar. On July 31st it was my grandma Spevak's 90th birthday. Her husband and my mom were in Ohio at the time, so we decided to go and celebrate with her. We could tell that she was happy to have us. So we ordered pizza and ate and then we bought her a carrot cake. She really went down on it and I am glad that she had a fun time with it. Happy Birthday Grandma. We love you!

Long Ride

For the 4th of July weekend we decided to take a trip up the canyon and go for a ride. We stopped at my sisters husband's parents' cabin and unloaded. It was a pretty fun trip and it was nice to get away for the weekend to the nice weather up there.

This was the only point where I actually got to take pictures because it was such a long ride. But there was a big mud puddle so everyone stopped to wait up for mom because she was behind and was having a hard time getting through. But this is Allie and Paige's ride. A friend of Guy's let them borrow it for the ride, which was pretty nice of him. They had a fun time.

Then she attempted to go through the puddle, and Guy had to move some logs so that she could go through.

Then she was spinning out. But finally made it through. Then after we met for a little break. Then continued for our ride so that we could find a lunch spot. Overall we had a great time and I am glad everyone had fun.

We all love her, but of course the one that didn’t want her (Kevin) is the one that worries about her most.When he gets home he says “Where’s Daisy?” She is the perfect dog for our family

White Christmas In Cedar '09

Christmas was really fun. this year. I know it has been a long time since Christmas(: We went up to my mom and dad’s house and had a “white Christmas” and I thought I might share some pics. The girls had fun and Allie got a bike for her main gift and Paige got Tony Hawk Ride for the Wii. They also got other things like clothes and pj’s, but overall it was a nice Christmas. We stayed up there for the whole winter break after Paige’s birthday. It was really nice getting away from Vegas and go up there to relax with family. Especially since it snowed and Kevin got to take Paige up to go sledding. But as a family we enjoyed being together.

Paige's 11th Birthday

My little girl is growing up(: It was Paige’s birthday on Dec. 18^th and I cannot believe it has almost been two months since she turned 11. She had a great birthday. She got a bike and some other little things. When we went out to pick a cake she said to me, “Mom. I already know what I want on my cake. . . Taylor Lautner!” So we had it done and it turned out great. She loved it and she was telling everyone, “I get his face!” But the only part about having her birthday in december is that it is exactly one week before Christmas!

We did a little of our winter clothes shopping so that we could have some different clothes than the ones here in Vegas. But overall we had fun and it was a fun time to spend with family and friends.

Yesterday, I took my girls to see the David Archuleta Concert in St. George. We had so much fun! He is such a good singer and a really cute kid. We went with Kevin's sister and her daughter and Kevin's mom. We were on the floor so we were pretty close and were able to get some good pictures and videos. But it was hard for Paige to see because the people in front of us would stand up and she wasn't tall enough to see over them. But overall it was good. We didn't get home until midnight, but it was worth it.

The lighting was pretty and the speakers worked well because our ears were ringing when we got out of there. He is really good and he sounded just like you were listening to the radio, but he was there in person. It was a good concert and worth the drive.

Unfortunately Allie didn't get her braces off. She is due for an appointment in another three weeks. But she did not get her hopes up because I think she knew that she wasn't. I guess we will have to try again next time. :(

Allie's Braces Update

Allie has an orthodontist appointment tomorrow and is supposed to be getting her braces off. On the last visit they were all prepared for her, they even had candy and a balloon. But the orthodontist said that she needed to keep them on for four more weeks. She is hoping that tomorrow will be it for her, but she is not getting her hopes up. So "hopefully" we can post an "after" picture. :)

Sunday, March 15 we had The Smith Family and The Stephensen's over for Sunday dinner. We had a great time.

Erika's Baby Shower

Erika's baby shower turned out really great. There was a lot of people that showed up and we are happy that they could come to support Erika and her baby Mason. She got a lot of great things for her baby and trust me, she got a lot of diapers so she should be set for the next five years. :) But anyway the picture above was the prizes that the guests received when they won a game. We played lots of fun games. We had baby safety pins tied to string, which we gave to all the guests. If someone said "baby" then they would have to give them their necklace. Whoever had the most at the end of the baby shower won the game. We also had a baby word scramble and guess how many jelly beans were in the "Mason" jar. The last game we played was the diaper game where you had to guess what was in the diaper. So we put four different kinds of baby food and four different kinds of chocolate and whoever guessed the most right won. It turned out really great and we all had a good time.

These were the baby shower favors Allie made. She is so creative with everything and did a really good job. She really had to work hard to make all 35 of them. I was surprised to see them done and how many there were.

This is the finished total. All 35 packed and ready to go.

We served a cake, chips and dip, and cheese ball. Thanks to The Smith's for bringing the fruit and relish trays and also the sandwiches. The food turned out great and I think everyone got well fed for lunch.

Mother & Daughter Cooking Night

This is Paige in her apron. Today around noon she came up to me and said, "Mom can I bake some cookies?" I told her she could, but she needed to go outside in the freezer and get some chocolate chips out. I told her to let them thaw out and so she put them on the cupboard. So while she was waiting for them to thaw out I had a little nap. Every 10 seconds she was coming up to me and she said, "Mom, they are thawed out now... can I cook now???" But then it was time to cook dinner so she wanted to do that too. After cooking she asked everyone how it was and if they liked it and yes it was really good for being cooked by a 10 year old (which had a little help with the stove and oven). But finally the chocolate chips thawed out and she got started. Well she went and got the two aprons out, mine and hers. She said, "Mom put yours on too and I can put mine on and we can be twins." So I put mine on and she went and got the bowl and all the cooking ingredients. Well I tried to help her but every time I tried she said, "No! Let me do it. I am the cook, not you. Get out of my kitchen. Just kidding but I want to do it." So I just watched and made sure she didn't get any egg shells in the mix or something that didn't belong. When she was done mixing it she even wanted to put it on the pan and put it in the oven. So when the timer went off, she got them out of the oven and put them on the cooling rack. Then she got the next batch ready and kept doing it until all the dough was gone. Well Allie came in and grabbed a cookie. She was about to put it in her mouth and Paige said, "Allie, don't eat it. This is my kitchen and I want to serve you. Wait until I am done." So Allie put the cookie back. When she was done she served the cookies and said, "How do you like my gourmet cooking?"

This Halloween we had a special guest: Joe Jonas! Paige was dressed up as him and doesn't she look like him. Kevin said that she makes a cute boy. Well I guess you could see what she would look like if she was.

This past weekend we had the opportunity to go with our neighbors, Larry & Sandy to Mandalay Bay to see the play Mamma Mia! I have not seen the movie but my mom and Allie went to it this past summer and said it was a real good movie. And yes they were right the play was excellent. I would go again because it's worth it. I suggest that if you haven't seen it go see it while you can before they stop doing shows.

Our mom had her 39th birthday. She hopes that she can hold it as long as she can, but its okay everyone grows up. Anyway our mom had a good birthday, we went to Claim Jumper and it was really good. We also gave her a free pedicure certificate because we couldn't find anything thing else that she doesn't already have. We go shopping and when she sees a craft that she wants she buys it, so that leaves us with nothing else to give her for her birthday or any other holiday, so I bet you can guess what you're getting for Christmas. We hope that she had a great birthday. Happy Birthday MOM!

The Smith's gave me an edible arrangement of fruit. It looks so delicious. Thanks Smith Family.

They also gave me the funniest card and on the front it says, "For your birthday I thought about giving you the star and the the sun..."

We traveled to Salt Lake over the weekend and while we were there we visited Gardner Village. It has a restaurant and tons of little shops that you can shop at. We got to looking around and there was this store called "Aly Paige Dance & Fitness Essentials". Which was a coincidence to happen to be Allie & Paige's names put together.

Four Wheeler Ride

On Saturday, July 5, we went on a quad ride with our kids and Kevin's mom and dad and my mom. We went up to Kevin's mom's friends' cabin and property. What a beautiful view. Anyway, they have a new law in Cedar City that we can now ride on certain roads, one of them included my mom's street, so we left right from her house. Before hitting the trail we stopped at the gas station to fill up the quads.

We didn't take very many pictures at dinner, but here is our Grandpa & Grandma Spevak at the dinner table. In the next picture this is our Grandma Spevak (left) and Grandma Elva (right). We enjoyed our dinner with a little bit of everything and sat around the table to visit.
